The Nexwell Power Social Fund will promote several social projects in Badajoz related to the decarbonisation and training of the local population, by financing and providing training courses. The company will soon begin the construction of three new solar plants in Badajoz, Mérida and Corte de Peleas.
Badajoz, 3 August 2023. Nexwell Power, the Nexwell Group’s platform for the construction, financing and sale of solar photovoltaic plants, is promoting several social projects in the region of Badajoz as part of its social and environmental commitment to the communities in which it operates. The company is performing these actions through its Social Fund, with the aim of speeding up decarbonisation, promoting the need to take care of the environment and training the local population in photovoltaic-related professions, thus promoting employment in the area.
For example, the company has donated a self-consumption solar plant to the Cáritas Employment Training Centre in the city of Badajoz, with which allow the centre to reduce its electricity bill. The company will also finance and provide a photovoltaic training course on the installation and maintenance of solar plants, which will directly benefit 15 students with no previous experience or training from the same employment centre, who will be able to choose to work in local companies.
In addition, the Nexwell Power Social Fund, with its vocation to disseminate photovoltaic technology in all its dimensions, will donate an electric storage battery to San Roque Institute of Secondary Education in the city of Badajoz. This donation will maximise the benefits of the school’s self-consumption system, while at the same time providing the school with a more complete and improved photovoltaic installation that will be available to the students of the training courses offered. All of this will be reinforced by the bifacial solar modules supplied for the modernisation of the photovoltaic laboratory where students carry out their work placements.
These initiatives, promoted by Nexwell Power, will benefit the people of the entire region of Badajoz and the towns where the photovoltaic plants are located. Raquel Muñoz, Sustainability Director at Nexwell Power, said: “Our commitment to the development of the communities in which we operate is paramount and part of Nexwell Power’s DNA. In this way we weave a web of relationships that allow us not only to be part of the communities in which we operate, but also to contribute to their development. An example of this is the social programmes that we are running in the province of Badajoz, with the aim of training students, with or without specific training, in the field of photovoltaic energy, which will boost local employment.”
Nexwell Power is firmly committed to Badajoz and Extremadura and will soon be building three new solar plants in the towns of Badajoz, Merida and Corte de Peleas.
