Nexwell Power starts the construction of its two first solar plants in Extremadura
With a total installed capacity of 13 MW, the new plants will be located in the municipalities of Corte de Peleas and Badajoz
LONDON, U.K. November 2023. Nexwell Power, one of the Nexwell Group’s institutional-grade platforms focused on accelerating the energy transition, announces the start of construction works of two new photovoltaic projects, corresponding to the Iberia Solar II portfolio, in the municipalities of Corte de Peleas and Badajoz, which will have a installed capacity of 6.63 MW each.
The Iberia Solar II portfolio will consist of 7 projects with a total installed capacity of 46 MW and will be located in Andalusia and Extremadura.
The construction is in charge of Osmos Sistemas Eléctricos and Vázquez y Reino, in a joint venture, which will also carry out the construction of the rest of the photovoltaic projects of the portfolio.
Accelerating innovative low-cost renewable solutions is a key activity within Nexwell Power’s strategy to reduce CO2 emissions, contribute to improving the environment and defend biodiversity while providing long-term clean and safe energy. Avoided CO2 emissions from the Merida project is projected to exceed 11,000 metric tons in its first full year of operation.
