Nexwell Power starts the construction of a new 6,6MW solar plant in Jaen, Andalusia
It will be located in Guarroman municipality and the avoided CO2 emissions from the project is projected to exceed 5,600 tons in its first year of operation
LONDON, U.K. April 2024. Nexwell Power, one of the Nexwell Group’s institutional-grade platforms focused on accelerating the energy transition, announces the start of the construction of its Guarroman 6,6 MW solar power plant located in the municipality of Baños de la Encina, Jaen (Andalusia).
This is the last project of the Iberia Solar II Portfolio to start the construction works. The portfolio consists of six projects with a total power installed capacity of 46MW located in Badajoz and Andalusia. Guarroman project beside Carmona (13MW) and Palma del Condado (6MW) are the projects of this portfolio placed in Andalusia in addition to Cantillana, a 6,3MW plant from a previous portfolio, which began supplying electricity to the grid in February.
The construction of the whole cluster is led by Osmos Sistemas Electricos leader in global electrical services in Spain in a joint venture with Vázquez y Reino and is financed by Rabobank. The new plant will produce clean energy to satisfy consumption of 4,000 households.
Nexwell Power’s strategy to accelerate the reduction of CO2 into the atmosphere is focused on providing low-cost, stable, clean and dispatchable electricity to off-takers through a combination of innovation, efficient capacity factor enhancement and sustainable long-term cost saving solutions. Avoided CO2 emissions from the Guarroman project is projected to exceed 5,600 metric tons in its first full year of operation.
