Nexwell Power donates state-of-the-art equipment for the photovoltaic classroom at the Salesianos School in Puertollano

The company is providing the centre with a new off-grid system, a self-consumption facility, a hybrid installation and a direct solar pumping system, which will be used to promote training programmes and student education. The project will allow the expansion of programmes for the unemployed in the area and the specialisation of students in vocational training, as well as promoting awareness of environmental education, sustainability and energy efficiency among students.

Puertollano, 27 April 2023. Nexwell Power, the platform of the Nexwell Group for the construction, financing and sale of photovoltaic plants, has donated state-of-the-art equipment to the Photovoltaic Classroom of the Salesianos Puertollano School, in order to promote the professionalisation of its Photovoltaic Training Laboratory. Through the Nexwell Power Social Fund, the company has provided the school with materials for the students to assemble an off-grid generation system, another self-consumption facility, a hybrid installation and a direct solar pumping system, which will be used to update its training programmes on renewable energies, a sector considered to be a strategic driver for the area in the coming years.

Specifically, the donated solar photovoltaic equipment will be used by students of the Intermediate Degree in Electrical and Automatic Installations and the Advanced Degree in Electrotechnical and Automated Systems, as well as for courses with a certificate of professionalism aimed at the unemployed. In line with Nexwell Power’s Social Fund strategy, the agreement will also allow the company to work with local employment agencies to generate skilled workers to meet the needs of a growing industry.

For Raquel Muñoz, ESG Manager at Nexwell Power, “the project once again highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability, education and awareness of climate change and the need for pro-environmental measures that will benefit the new generations of Puertollano through training and the creation of new job opportunities”.

According to the school’s director, Sergio Oter Díaz, “Nexwell Power's donation has enabled the students to build this photovoltaic laboratory. We have moved from the artificial to the real, so that they can follow the best practices, especially in terms of training and the world of work that they will find when they leave the centre”.

The donation to the Salesianos Puertollano school comes on top of another recently made by Nexwell Power to the Azuer Institute in Manzanares, also in the province, where it donated a 44 kWp self-consumption photovoltaic system that will allow students on training cycles in renewable energies to carry out their practice in the centre itself. This is in addition to avoiding the emission of 29,000 kg of carbon dioxide per year and saving up to 40% on the electricity bill, which will form a solidarity fund for the centre’s users.
